Guided tour of the great organs of Como Cathedral

On Sunday 15th September 2024 at 14.30, as part of the initiative La Costellazione Bossi, the Masterclasses in Organ Interpretation of the 20th Century Cecilian Music in Como will take place.

On this occasion, a guided tour of the great organs of the Cathedral of Como will be held in the Cathedral, with musical performances by Maestro Lorenzo Pestuggia, archivist and titular organist of the Cathedral. The visit will allow the visitor to appreciate the instrument in its overall phonic conception, but will also lead to the discovery of unique sonorities that are fundamental for understanding the 20th century Ceciliano of Como.

The city of Como is a privileged observatory for the reappropriation of the Cecilian organ repertoire, unlike other Italian organ realities. Above all, the Cathedral of Como has been able to keep alive a hereditary axis that, starting from the presence of the prince of organists (Marco Enrico Bossi) and then – thanks to the commitment of Luigi and Alessandro Picchi – has followed an absolutely straight line in the name of a noble and elegant continuity of taste and style. Entrance is free.
