The Cathedral is open on weekdays, from 07.30 to 19.00, thanks to the work of employees and volunteers.
On Sundays and solemnities, it is open until the end of the last celebration, at about 8 p.m. approximately.
Any changes in opening hours are published on the website.

Tourist visits are possible, as a rule, at the following times:
Monday – Friday 10.30 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.
Saturday 10.45 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Sunday and public holidays 11.00 – 11.45 / 13.00 – 16.30
Opening hours, visiting times and routes may be subject to changes or limitations due to liturgical celebrations or for organisational needs of the Cathedral.
The times when it is possible to access the visit by means of integrated ticketing can be checked through the Cathedral website and the portals of the municipal museum authorities.

It is possible to access the Cathedral from all doors. In particular, we recommend to use the left minor door on the façade.
The entrance for the visit is through the Porta delle Virtù, in Via Maestri Comacini (preferred for groups) or through the door of the Presentation (small door on the right side of the façade).

Some areas of the Duomo are available for prayer only at the back of the Duomo: believers can find the penitentiary, where they can celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession.
In this part of the Duomo the believers can also pray in front of the large crucifix and prepare for confession. Here there is also a place dear to the people of Como: the altar of the Madonna delle Grazie. Here it is possible to pray before the altar and write a personal prayer, which is offered to Our Lady every Saturday, or light a candle with your own intention. Here you will also find some nuns and deacons for a spiritual talk, if you wish.
Another place reserved for prayer is the Altar of the Assumption, where the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist is kept in the tabernacle. You are invited to climb the steps, take your place in the pews and experience a time of personal prayer.

No, the believers also have free access to the rest of the Cathedral.
It is therefore possible, for example, to pray in front of the side altars and the shrines of Saints Liberata and Faustina, as well as in the areas reserved for prayer.

No. Tourists without tickets can use a special route that, after entering through the Door of the Virtues, runs along the right nave (altar of St. Abbondio and Pala Raimondi) and, passing under the organ pipes, leads to the left nave (altars of the Deposition and St. Joseph, with exit through the frog door).

The Integrated Ticket, in addition to the possibility of visiting the Civic Museums, allows you to visit the transept of the Cathedral, the wooden choir, the sacristies and the upper walkways. For the visit to the walkways it is necessary, for safety reasons, to visit them with an authorised guide.

Parish or pilgrim groups are invited to contact the Cathedral to agree on the times and schedules of the visit or pilgrimage, which do not fall under the ticketing.
The Cathedral of Como has been at the centre of the city's life for centuries. The Cathedral does not receive regular subsidies from the State: for this reason, in order to ensure that the Cathedral can be admired by future generations, visitors to a part of the Cathedral are asked to make a contribution to the necessary restoration work on the monument.
